Some things were made
better the first time around.
There’s a scene in every great film where someone walks in and the room shifts. It’s never what’s new. It’s always what’s considered. That feeling is what Playback is built around — and it’s exactly what’s been missing from fashion in Pakistan.
Playback is Pakistan’s first curated archive clothing store. We source and bring to Pakistan the kind of vintage clothing that defined the decades worth remembering — the 80s and 90s, when dressing well was a form of self-respect. Old money aesthetics. The wardrobe Rachel Green was pulling from, that The Fresh Prince made look effortless, that Patrick Bateman obsessed over for a reason.
Ralph Lauren Bear sweaters. Coogi. Carlo Colucci. RL Flag. Women’s vintage dungarees. Archive pieces that don’t show up in malls and can’t be replicated by whatever fast fashion is pushing this week. Every single one chosen because it earned its place — not because it was available.
How We Find It
Sourcing premium vintage clothing is where most stores cut corners. It’s where Playback refuses to. Our procurement is obsessive by design — we go looking for specific pieces, not whatever’s cheapest.
When something arrives, it passes through multiple rounds of quality checks covering condition, authenticity, construction, and character. If it doesn’t clear every stage, it doesn’t make it. Most things don’t.
What reaches you has been vetted the way curators vet art. Because that’s what archive fashion is.
Who We’re For
If you’ve ever screenshot a 90s fashion reference and wished you could actually find it in Pakistan. If you’ve spent money on fast fashion and felt vaguely cheated. If you understand that a great vintage piece is an investment, not an expense — Playback is for you.
- For the Gen Z buyer who wants the real thing.
- For the millennial who remembers when clothes had weight to them.
- For anyone in Pakistan who believes getting dressed should feel like a decision, not a default.
Pakistan deserves to dress like it means it.
Playback is here to make that possible.
Welcome to Playback. Pakistan’s archive.
